The beginning

She is lying in the bed counting the last few minutes she is going to lie alone in the bed hence. She has been fasting all day preparing for the big event. 3.30pm Jan 5th, the nurse arrives asking us all to leave the room. The necessary preparations are done for the big event cleaning her and mentally preparing her for the big event. The event is getting emphasized ain’t it? Of course it is, as it is the climax of the culmination of two small living forms of the Mr and Mrs (M&M) which met in an cosmic space of its own some 37 weeks before.

Week number 4. 2.00pm in the afternoon in a crowded Jayanagar market. M&M had their lunch after test driving few cars. Walking down the alley and suddenly Mrs feels giddy and starts to puke. He panics, look for a shop, gets some water and then BINGO …. It strikes. First evidence but a faint one. Arguments fire up between the couple and then they decided to look out for more….

By week 5 all the possible evidences are dug out and then as usual formalities completed the Doc confirms it with the green sign. The couple prepares to walk their way through. Plans made to handle the entire situation and as usual the plans never materialize. Mr is kicked off to Minneapolis for three months leaving the damsel with smile on her lips and tears in her heart.

New place, new people and new things to do did have the attention of the Mr for some time but didn’t succeed in tying him there to that place. Physically he was in Minneapolis but mentally he was Banglored. He was torn part between work and family. Trying to keep account of the number of phone calls made and dollars spent is equal to counting the stars in the sky. Pangs of guiltiness hit the heart of Mr for every vomiting sensation the Mrs suffered. The hands that were supposed to assure the Mrs was drumming the key pad coding senselessly, the eyes that were supposed to radiate love and compassion to the Mrs was glued to the monitor’ screen. Days went like years and the longing to get back made the Mr take the flight on august 1st, 15 days prior to the tenure to join the Mrs in the start of the 2nd trimester

Nurses finished their job and by 3.45 pm she was ushered inside the operation theater. Mr was let down as he wasn’t allowed to accompany here inside. Laws r laws and cannot be mended. The next 45 minutes was the longest time the Mr had spent watching a white door. The door that leads to his happiness,he door that leads to his rewards, the door that leads to his new definition. Pacing around the 7*7 corridor Mr thinks about the 2nd trimester.

Travelling is not advised during the second trimester, but the couple dared to go on a trip to the jungles. One of the memorable trips it was. Meeting new friends, camping in the thick jungles, spotting cheetas( which the couple missed ;-(), running behind deers - it was fun. It was a well deserved break. Then came the ritual in the second trimester -- Poochotal ! mrs was decked from top to bottom in a the traditional attire, long flowing hair adorned with flowers, wrppaed in a saree - she looked cute in her own ways. Suddenly the crying..........

Cry of the new born. hearing it first time gives you the shivers. Mr waitng eaegerly for someone to come behind the doors and announce the arrival. Finally the verdict is given -- Its a BOY and Mrs is doing well..... Word fail to express what the Mr feels at that time. Tiny drop of tears flow from his eyes... 9 months -- has been worth a wait.
